Real Finance Training That Actually Works
We started OrigonRenewal because we saw too many analysts struggling with skills that textbooks just don't teach well. Since 2018, we've been helping finance professionals in Taiwan move beyond theory into practical corporate finance work.
Building expertise since 2018How We Got Here
Starting Small
Three former analysts noticed something odd. Fresh graduates knew the formulas but couldn't actually build models or assess real company performance. So we started running weekend workshops in Tainan, teaching what we wished someone had taught us.
Finding Our Voice
The pandemic pushed everything online, which turned out to be a blessing. We refined our approach, adding real financial statements from Taiwanese companies and building case studies around actual market scenarios. Our students started getting better positions faster.
Growing Recognition
Word spread through finance departments across Taiwan. We expanded into valuation techniques and restructuring analysis. By mid-2023, we had trained over 340 analysts who went on to work at major firms throughout East Asia.
Looking Forward
Today we're focused on advanced analytics and cross-border finance challenges. Our autumn 2025 programs will cover emerging market analysis and ESG integration in financial modeling. Still the same practical approach, just deeper expertise.
What We're Actually Good At
These aren't just topics we cover. They're areas where our instructors have genuine front-line experience and where we've seen students make real career progress.
Meet Our Lead Instructor
Ingrid Vesalainen
Lead Finance InstructorIngrid spent eleven years doing leveraged buyout analysis at two different firms before deciding she'd rather teach than pitch. She's Finnish by background but has worked in Taiwan since 2016 and knows the local market inside out.
What makes her approach different is the focus on decision-making under uncertainty. Not just building perfect models, but knowing when your assumptions matter and when they don't. She's particularly good at explaining complex restructuring scenarios in ways that actually make sense.
- Structured 23 LBO transactions totaling .2B before moving into education
- Developed our core valuation curriculum based on real deal experience
- Specializes in cross-border M&A and distressed company analysis
- Fluent in English, Finnish, Mandarin, and enough Japanese to be dangerous
How We Actually Teach
Most finance training dumps information on you and hopes some sticks. We do things differently because we remember what it's like to learn this stuff the first time.
Real Cases, Real Numbers
Every model you build uses actual company data. We pull from public filings of Taiwanese and regional companies so you're working with the messiness of real financial statements, not sanitized textbook examples.
- Taiwan Stock Exchange listed company case studies
- Cross-border transaction scenarios from recent deals
- Industry-specific challenges in tech, manufacturing, and services
- Updated quarterly as markets and regulations change
Build, Break, Rebuild
You'll create financial models, then we'll give you new information that breaks your assumptions. Learning to adapt your analysis quickly is more valuable than building one perfect model over three weeks.
- Iterative modeling exercises with changing parameters
- Scenario analysis under time pressure
- Group critique sessions to find model weaknesses
- Focus on judgment, not just technical accuracy
Small Groups, Direct Feedback
Maximum eight students per session. You get direct feedback on your work, not generic comments. We see what you're actually struggling with and can adjust the pace accordingly.
- Weekly individual model reviews with instructors
- Peer review exercises to learn from different approaches
- Office hours for specific technical questions
- Career guidance based on your particular strengths
Ongoing Support Network
Training doesn't end when the program does. Alumni get continued access to resources, updated materials, and quarterly workshops on emerging topics. Plus an active community of finance professionals who actually help each other.
- Lifetime access to updated course materials and models
- Quarterly advanced workshops on new methodologies
- Private forum for technical questions and career advice
- Annual networking events with finance professionals across Taiwan
